About

Portraits is an arts journal founded on the idea that every piece of writing is inherently a reflection of the author. In this vein, Portraits seeks to provide a voice for the Purdue student body and beyond. The students of Purdue are diverse in their cultures, experiences, and interests, and we believe there is a need to platform their voices, no matter their fields of study. The goal of Portraits is to engage an artistcally unengaged campus, to promote the multiplicative virtue of voice. Portraits will have hope. Portraits will have anger. Portraits will show the audience art they want to see and problems they do not. But above all, Portraits will make you care. We want to blend the personal, thoughtful nature of art with the heartfelt nature of politics, and everything in between. We will publish conscious art and artful activism.
